Arctic Blast

Ok, so two days after my last post, it really snowed. We got like 10-12 inches, which is cause to shut down the city. It was really weird because it was the week before Christmas and it was NOT good for business. Although, I must say how surprised I was about the amount of customers that we did have, but I think that people just didn't have a choice, they had to finish their Christmas shopping. Our business hours are finally back to normal so no more staying until one in the morning. Work lately has been really frustrating. Today was just crazy, I don't know if it is a full moon, but the customers were just weird today. I seriously had a lady come in for a 2.43 refund. Then a lady came in with her reciept because she couldn't remember purchasing what was on her reciept and once I brought the item out she remembered. Who does that? Why would you take a reciept all the way to the store because you couldn't remember what was on your reciept, just crazy!

Internet Has Been Down

Oh my goodness, I never realized how much the internet was an addiction for me. Until I got a virus from facebook and couldn't get on in over a week. Not much has happened. The liscensor has gotten back with me and I told her about the psycho letter the daycare lady sent. She told me that if the state decides to take action that they will want me to testify. Which I have no problem with, I just don't really want to see her! I hope to catch up on everyone's blogs!!

Crazy Daycare Lady

Oh my gosh!! The crazy daycare lady that I called CPS on sent me an anonymous letter. It was actually an article from the internet in an envelope with no return address and my name and address on a computer generated label. Take a look: http://blog.care.com/child_care_scoop/2008/09/top-five-rude-b.html?cid=138572328#co

She highlighted the parts that say:
Don't you hate it when total strangers comment on your babysitting or parenting style: They may think they're being helpful, but they're really just overstepping their bounds and making an already stressful situation worse.

The point is that most rude comments are more a reflection on the person who makes them than on the person at whom they're directed.

People really need to mind their own business. In regards to someone else's children. My opinion is if the child is not yours and the child is not being neglected, butt out.

Who does this? What a kook!! And hello, there were children being neglected, who puts little kids outside without jackets or shoes.

Anyway, on another note, I am going to start up a story time at work starting Dec. 1st and it will be Monday mornings at 10:30am in the childrens department. I hope to see some of my friends there!!

Been MIA

Sorry, I hate when people don't post for a long time. Not much has been going on. The Christmas rush is officially on. Well, I guess I can't really call it a rush yet, but we have extended hours on the weekend and we are playing Christmas music. This year I am looking forward to the Holidays. Not that I don't usually, but sometimes I feel really overwhelmed this time of year, but this year, so far, I don't. I know a lot of it is the six birthdays we have coming up between the two families in the next two weeks, but I am just taking it as it comes!! I wonder why some years we stress out about these things and some years we just take it with a grain of salt. Strange indeed!!
So, Aaron and I have our eyes on this really great house that we found for sale right now. We are hoping that it all falls together and we could eventually buy it. But things would just have to work out just right for it to happen. Like, we would have to sell our house first, but in this market it could be difficult. Anyway, we are just taking it a step at a time and seeing what happens.

Update and pictures

So, the state liscensor called me yesterday to get my side of the story. Apparently, the day that this all happened the daycare lady called the liscensor to let her know what happened. So the liscensor now has both sides of the story. Luckily she now gets to ask the kids involved what happened. Hopefully they can get down to the bottome of things and get things taken care of. Like I have said, I don't want her to lose her liscense, I just want her to stop. Anyway, I want to update with Halloween pictures. All in all, it was a very successful night!!

So I did it...

I reported the daycare lady yesterday. Part of me feels guilty, but part of me feels good for finally doing it. She put a sign for her daycare on the entrance ramp to the freeway and I swear it was a sign meant for me because everytime I saw it I got mad all over again and wanted to report her even more. Not that I want her to lose her license or anything, but she needs to stop. We will be trick or treating tonight, the kids are very excited even though it is raining today but it is the Pacific Northwest, so what else can you expect? Anyway, I will take pictures tonight and post them when I get a chance. Happy Halloween!
